It’s that time of year; I see
A heavy gloom across the sky..
Poem:
It’s that time of year; I see
A heavy gloom across the sky;
The sun must bend its stubborn will
and yield yo threatening clouds on high.
Sagging hearts must wait until
It’s time to freely swell again;
Soon the rain shall fall at will
That Nature may its strength regain.
There beyond my range of sight
Some flighty birds stay in retreat,
Perhaps, just flutterng here and there,
At once confined, to say the least.
But birds like humans know it, too,
That none of this shall be in vain;
The sun its presence must renew,
As it must rise and shine again.
Out of the darkness and the gloom
And lashing storm arrives the birth
Of liveliness and bursts of bloom,
With all the nourishments of earth.
