Feelings I expressed in poetry for someone who is no longer a friend of mine and someone I have yet to forget…

Times like this when I see it rain,

I stand and wait so it can numb the pain,

Let it wash away disgrace,

As I remember an unforgiving face.

Here I stand in a downpour,

Think of someone who is nevermore,

Wash away what deprived me for so long,

What I said I know was wrong.

Build the strength to accept what’s now,

Hard to believe she made that vow,

“I will never leave you.” She said once,

I sit and grieve from her absence.
