I flew back to England two days ago, and it’s SO cold here that I decided to write a poem! :)

From under the covers

All I can hear,

Is the rain on the window,

So loud – So clear!

It’s a cold autumn night

And I can’t feel my feet.

What’s wrong with this house?!

Is there not any heat?

The leaves hit the window

While the wind beats the trees,

I don more pairs of socks

And try not to freeze.

“An Indian Summer!”,

The weather men say.

Yeah, right! They are lying!

Every day is always grey!

It’s getting very late,

And I still cannot sleep;

So in my three pairs of socks,

I decide to count sheep

Baa….Love it. I’ll trade you a little of this heat for a bit of your cool. Great poem. I haven’t worn socks since March.

Lucky you! I forgot how cold England was.. I’ll take heat over cold any time!

Vicky, It’s beautiful today down in Eastbourne and the temperature is 20 degrees. I am sitting here in summer clothes. LOL. A very atmospheric and beautifully written poem.
