Sounds of a rainy day.
Raindrops, raindrops
Plip, plop, plap
Falling on my window
Sliding and wiggling on their way to the ground
Raindrops, raindrops
Tit, tat, tit, tat
Knocking on my door
Do suppose they want a spot of tea?
Raindrops, raindrops
Bam, bam, bam
Splashing on my roof
Sliding into the drain,
Falling into expanding puddles,
Poof, poof
Sheltered from the downpour,
I hide underneath my covers, toasty and warm
I drink hot chocolate,
Overflowing with tiny marshmellows
My book filled with childhood fantasies at my side.
Mom’s in the kitchen
Preparing my favorite rainy day chicken soup
Dad’s doodling with a new project to pass the time.
And my puppy, Mr. Fred is far off in dreamland on our “Welcome” mat.
Raindrops, raindrops
Plip, plop, plap
Falling on my window
Sliding and wiggling on their way to the ground
Soon the sun will peek through the clouds
And dry up all the rain
Until then I will enjoy my rainy day comforts
Smooth and delicious hot chocolate
Warm and hearty soup
Quiet family time
Engulfing blankets
Plip, plop, plap
