A well known Indian poet named Valmiki wrote a poem called "Ramayana". Although I am not Indian someone wrote to me recently and reminded me of this poem with their illustrations and words.

"For endless years to come, O Hunter, never shall thy soul find peace"

"The Path of Excess leads to the Tower of Wisdom" – William Blake

“Everything in excess is opposed to nature.” – Hippocrates.

For some their Valhalla lies somewhere earthly, not nice

Like Ramayana, narrates the journey of virtue towards vice

The taste isn’t the grain but the curry that coats the rice

Is my meaning beginning to take shape?

From point A, to point C is not where the real question lies

It is what is in between that arouses the ire; the guise

The journey is the gem where the end enjoys the brunt of the ride

Does the clarity adorn the neck’s naked nape?

Does the conscience allow subjugation of truth for the lie?

Do we dance in the deviant dark and run from the light?

Afterwards placing their face into the pillows they bite?

Denying what is really and truly at stake?

Life oscillates wildly for the wicked, the dull and the wise

To know this is true means to prepare for any potential reprise

Irrespective of the manner in which we chose the exercise

We continue in the direction in which we choose to take

    the Ramayana they say
    is an idealistic
    case history
    of uniqueness.

    I don’t know whether
    LORD RAMA
    and SIta did exist

But even Ravanna was the one,
who wanted to save his kingdom ,
    but for his brother
    who bought himeslf a piece
    and let down his country

    if so be it,
twas a kind of reality ,
    as we all know
    in our own homes ,
    lies truce,
    between tommy and bruce
    if one gets the ice,
    the other the cream ,

    so be it,
    stories of idealism today,
    are as of lore ,
    no not any more,
but if Ramayana was for sure,
    Rama would be me
    and Ravanna,
    I can’t name thee…
