I am a snake,

I am a special kind

of a snake,

I am called the rattle-snake.

We snakes are normally

 harmless.If you disturb us

 we will not mind killing you

with a single bite.

Some of us we lay eggs and

 some of us we give birth

to the younger ones straight.

I live in America and

 my brothers and sisters

live in Canada and Argentina .

They say I am evil looking.

How Can I be?

 I am also one of the creations

 of God.

I live mainly in the rocky desert

and you can hear my rattle

some 25 metres away.

I avoid people as much as I can.

I hold my tail upright

when I face any disturbance.

Remember I can also strike

 at a lightning speed.

I will not hesitate to coil round

 and be ready to attack

 if any one troubles me.

I can only make the sound

of the rattle but I cannot hear it.

I can only feel through

the vibrations on the ground.

I eat for breakfast the mice,

the voles for my dinner,

the rats for my supper.

I have sometimes buffet

 with chipmunk and other

small animals as side dishes.

I swallow them after

I kill them with my

venomous bite

but the venom does not

 affect me in any way.

Our relatives Pythons

can live for a longer time

 without eating anything.
