This is a little poem that I first wrote sometime in high school. Its about attempting to stay awake in school of course! :D It has some comic relief to it and reminds us of how we used to be when staying up on those late nights doing homework last minute like I was or just studying really-really hard. :P
Enjoy!

Strained by enervations of school,

I live my life fifty-five minutes at a time.

Between classes I wake up to the realization of a ding-dong-ding

During classes there is a constant struggle to stay conscious.

My head wobbles back,

Then instinctively forward,

And back and forth and back and forth

My eyes heavy as a two ton dream,

Weighty on my ever so drifting eyes

To fall…

My three minute dream seems so real

I could simply walk out the classroom and pursue it.

So real…

So real to give up this skirmish between real and fantasy

For a new life,

A life of desire…

A life of hedonism …

A life worth trying to achieve…

Only right after a nap in class.

    Hello, Brandon,

Hopefully I haven\’t already left you a message on this poem-my computer is having server problems, so please bear with me.

Anyway, very cool poem; I too have to agree with that typical zoning out feeling many of us often get in the classroom…sigh…unavoidable and yet often undesirable (or desirable; I suppose that depends on the person and class…:D)
