I was that flower which withered on its stalk

The sunrays in whhich others basked in delight

Burned my tender skin to blistering pain with their glare

I was un wanted, uncared and ignored by kinsmen

Living an existence as a burden I bore with reluctant indifference

I closed myself in a shell of solitude to lick wounds unseen

peering thruough the window of life I envyed sagas of love

Tat enfolded before me while I watched from my desserted life

Running after mirages of affection in the thirst fot adoration

Or seeking the end of the rainbow to find the gold of love

In vain I lived through years that passed with no one to be mine

And my tortured pining heart belonged to none

Then by a stroke of fate which had pity on me

You came into my life like a breeze of fresh air

Blowing away vestiges of the poignant, melancholy past

You nurtured my withering existence with elixir of love

In your unconditional affection I bloomed for the first time

I found that I could be beautiful if only in your eyes

I found a life worth cherishing in your company, through your eyes

You gave my drifting vagrancy, a meaning and purpose

Washing away all blemishes of inadequacy  with you caress

And your smile wiped away the tear stain from my soul

Released from the clutches of the venus fly trap of depression

I soar high up in the azure heavens of ecstasy with new found wings

As your love held my heart captive and set me free of inhibitions

Those shackling me sionce the dawn of life

Basking in the sunlight of your love I was reborn as a sunflower

Or was seen reemerging fom my ashes as the phoenix

Your love flowing like ambrosia through my veins
