Poems should be recited with right body language, emotions and voice. By this, we are letting the audience know the message of the poem.
Guidelines in reciting a poem
Voice
The dramatist should use proper intonation and right pronunciation of words. He should know where intonation will rise or fall. He should also know where to pause or rest. Recognizing poetry symbols will help the dramatist on this aspect.
Persuasion
The dramatist should persuade the audience that what is saying is true. Emotions and body language will play a big role on this aspect.
Actions
Every actions of the dramatist should be noticed by his audience. It is not right to move unnecessarily on stage. It will make the audience give a bad interpretation of what you are doing. Sometimes too much actions will make the audience dizzy because of observing your every move.
Hand signals
Right hand signals is a big help in poem interpretations. By hand signals you’re emotions are being clear to your audience. Hand signals should be swift and mellow, not too fast. It should also be steady, as much as possible practise not being shaky even though you’re nervous which is understandable. Observe also proper body posture while doing hand signals.
