A poem of love rekindled.

The sun sets behind the foothills,

a beautiful pink and purple.

The blank white screen

ahead of us

shimmers to life

 as ads of

acrobatic hot dogs

and

dancing ice cream bars

appear.

The seats recline and

we slide into the backseat.

Arm around me

heads leaned close together,

talking of future and past,

we wait for a movie to start.

As darkness descends

the movie begins,

we slip into the comfort of

each other,

a comfort on hold for over 8 months.

I catch his glance

in the glow from the screen

his eyes dart away,

embarrassed to be caught.

But his thoughts are clear,

resounding in my own mind…

we just might make this work.
