Depicting the results of divorce.
Today in a life full of bustle and go,
Homes have been shredded, and families we know.
We live in a world of recyled lives,
Marrying and divorcing, husbands and wives.
Children are tossed to and fro in the fray,
Lost in a world of confusion from day to day.
They call one their mom, and the other their step-dad.
One house they disdain, and the other makes them glad.
Even the dog gets confused sometimes over where’s home.
He’s thrown in the car for the visitations without a bone.
It’s a dilemma that we tried not to create.
But it’s a reality now, and we wonder when it will dissipate.
What’s worse is when it happens again,
The second divorce, or the third, or the fourth,
New faces to get to know, and all because of a divorce.
Hopefully the children are up and out of the home.
By the third and fourth time, they feel tempted to roam.
One thread however, can run through our recycled lives,
And that is love, which is enduring and has no price.
Despite the changes and readjustments we all have to make,
Our recycled lives, with love, will come out great.
