A poem about fading relationships.

YOU CLUTCH ME TIGHT

YOU SMILE VERY CHEERFULLY

TIME GOES ON

I AM A BET WORN OUT

I STILL FLOAT THOUGH

YOU SMILE BUT VERY DISTANTLY

TIME GOES ON

I AM STILL AFLOAT

YOU DON’T SMILE LIKE YOU USED TO

YOU DON’T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT ME

YOUR HAND BECOMES SWEATY

I SLIP OUT OF YOUR GRASP

YOU SEEM TO NOTICE

YOU TRY NO EFFORT TO CATCH ME

AFTER ALL THIS TIME WE’VE BEEN TOGETHER

WHY WON’T YOU CATCH ME?

YOU LET ME FLOAT AWAY

I WISH I WAS ALL WORN OUT AND PUT TO DRAG

I TAKE A GREAT DISTANCE

POP!
