Poem for my daughters.

Reflections from Your Mother

I have watched you grow,

Not knowing if you’ll make it.

I’ve fed your dreams,

Not sure if they’re yours or mine (?).

I’ve been your friend,

When you’ve “hated” me.

I’ve comforted you,

When you said, “Leave me alone”.

Now you think you don’t need me,

And I’m not sure if you do.

Can I ever stop being your mother,

Or will I ever need to?
