Change today for a better tomorrow.

Why lie, when you should die?
Why are you shy, when you should cry?

See what hiding the truth is putting you through
And you thought I’d walk by without a clue?

Am I over reacting, is this not what you are?
Should you jump off a cliff, be hit by a car?

I hate liars, don’t you know that by now?
Forgiving you a million times, I’m tired of that
My hope you’d change is being used against me
It’s your leverage to lie to me again.

Guess what I’m not forgiving you anymore
Care less what you’re going to do with false words
Walk out right now, there’s the door…

****

Time passes by, I forget your name
The way we drifted was a real shame.

****

“Hey wasn’t she your friend?”
The gal in the newspaper…
I take up the page with a fear in my heart.
Have the lies got to you when I warned you at the start?

My heart stops pounding and I can’t believe what I see
My anger for you vanished like blinks, look at you now!

“A certain friend had influenced her to rid herself of all shallow habits and train for the region’s title in the sport she fancied the most. Although she wishes to keep the friend’s name confident, she wishes that she is forgiven by this friend she hurt several years ago and that someday she’d make her proud. This year’s title is dedicated to her friend…..”

And so reporters say,
I silently pray.
Thank good faith she changed
Sometimes harsh words remain permanent

“Change today for a better tomorrow”

were my final words to her the day we drifted apart.
I forgive her as always and she knows that miles apart.

As always, great stuff Kaavs. I can’t help but feel as a reader though, that we’re intruding into something very personnel with some of your work.
