Even after years have past, you can still feel that broken heart.

Refuse
8 Mar 09

I sit here refusing
Never to desire her again
Never to dream of her
Never to care that I miss her
Yet fail to my disdain

How can I refuse
To let her in my heart
Envelope her with my soul
Be captured by this lust
Yet fail is my part

If she comes back
I want to punish
I refuse to show care
A belt to her bottom would be so fine
Yet fail as love I find I share

I sit here refusing
To cry over a love long lost
To remember a time so far gone
To break my heart again
Yet fail as I shatter once again

More of my Work:

Loving
She’s Sleeping
Someday I’ll Handle It

Nice poem. I have been there many times, as well as you. I have the T-shirt. . .
