Some thoughts about hides beneath the dark shroud of Halloween…Read more.

The night grows dark and eerie.

It is a night of dread,

night to appease the under-gods,

night of the living dead

wrapping souls up in deception

since those angels fell to Earth,

stoned their minds against the Lord God

and became forever cursed.

Call the spirits ‘round the bonfire.

Give them wine and give them meat;

sacrifice that which is innocent,

give them cakes and cookies sweet.

Give them up to frenzied dancing…

Who’s that knocking at my door?

Do not answer.  Do not answer,

cries the raven ‘evermore.

‘Tis the devil and his demons

calling you to come and play.

Do not fall for their deception.

Just say no.  Send them away.

Do not bite the apple.

Do not taste its juices sweet.

‘Tis not a hallowed eve at all

this night called Halloween;

night of false faces and deception…

night of the devil’s trickery.

    Great poem about the evil in halloween. Let’s light the night instead.

    Thanks Pam and we will be Lighting the Night. Our Boy Scout Troop and the youth group at one of our local churches are combining efforts where they will be entertained by a Christian Youth Band, Christian testimony and stories, games and door prizes and served refreshments. To get in to this Night of Light it will cost you 1 non-perishable food item per person to be donated to the local food shelf and soup kitchen. Each child is encouraged to bring a friend…at least this is what I understand is in the works and should come off fine, still time to pull it together.
