A poem about one of the worst emotions in the world….

A poet once said:
I life without regret is a life well led.
Opinions vary,
as some are clueless and others savvy.

Regret is the abstract noun
that conquers your days
and creates that everlasting frown.
It’s very slinky in its ways,
and it’s only at the end,
that you realise what mistakes you’re trying to mend.

Regret can start out small and easy,
merely a symptom that makes you queasy.
An insult thrown at the wrong time
or a family heirloom lost.
Regret is the punishment for the crime.

the problem occurs when the regret evolves
and no problems seem to solve.
A friend turned foe…
A love that was all for the show…
A relationship that should’ve worked out…
The frustration of it makes you want to shout.

Life is not fair.
No matter how well two people make a pair,
or how much you really care.
