Rejection: one of the most painful emotions.

Broiling, roiling

Blood is boiling

Nursing anguish, inwards coiling

Nurtured ‘til a grudge is born

A spite to greet the coming morn

Why does rejection turn to hate?

Revenge the thing we contemplate?

Resentment, festering persists

Forgiveness vanishing like mists

Spoiling all that once was pure

The realm of love we now abjure

I can identify with this poem completely. It sums up exactly how I feel at the moment.

I certainly hope you’re not currently feeling this way Bruce. A poem that painfully brings one back to sadder times.

Time heals all wounds . . . trust in that. :)

Thankfully, I think, I am so accustomed to rejection that grudges and revenge no longer torment me.
