Past warnings we must heed!
From Angor Wat to Gobekli Tempe
Ancient civilization had a lot to say
Long dead gods ruled everything from sun to sand
But destroyed themselves by disrespecting the land
Modern man in the twinkle of an eye
Committed the same wasteful sin and now must die
Our counterparts on Easter Island once observed
They took too much and got what they deserved
Their Muai silent sentinels to an obsessive need
Matched only by modern mans obsessive greed
Mayan gods told Pakal’s heir to end their empire
From their lessons we should aspire
To live at one with the planet
Or suffer the wrath of it
Maybe it’s too late as their long count calender suggests
2012 maybe the best it gets
Crops will wither and die
Famine fueled missles will race through the sky
Little red soldiers will march to a dangerous beat
While governments crumble in defeat
So if the past is at all a foil for our future
We must respect the earth so dear
The concept of jen by K’ung-tzu teaches of a better way
Similiar to Taoist monks who live and pray
