Relieved a poem by Jennifer Jo Fay. A poem for the soul. A poem that got kickstarted from rumors.

Relieved

This will be my last poem

of no substance, I hope.

The original writer of the

Triond Rumor said

that the other writer read

into something that could

end up being nothing.

I was going to stop writing

for this site,

but since hearing from

the original writer

I have decided to change my mind.

I think I will continue

to write my poems

of whatever substance

they may be.

I’m not into rhyming, sonnets

or haiku, or structured poetry.

But that doesn’t mean

that I don’t have anything to say.

A poem or a story has

such a diverse melting pot

and no one person has the right

to say what is a poem and what is not.

Everyone has their right

to their own opinion,

but it doesn’t mean

that other writers are

going to feel the same way.

I’m entitled to my words

and my opinion.

And if people have

not nice things to say,

they should keep quiet

or say it nicely

without using words of hurt.

Make the world

a better place.

Don’t contribute

to the violence of any kind.

yeah there can be forms in poetry but everyone is free to explore and establish their own style..because poetry is about freedom of the soul and love that transcends body and mind..
great share. Would love you to take a look at my haiku attempts.

I’m sorry dear, but I’m afraid that The Tick is right. Whether or not you believe it, a free verse is not a poem. That is not an opinion but a fact, one that you should really be careful about if you don’t want to associate with rhymes.

I’m sorry, dear, but maybe you should put in your title from now on: “…a free verse by…” After all, it does make you look unprofessional when a reader sees “…a poem by…” and does not find any rhymes or meter.

I don’t like The Tick’s tactics, either, but there is a lot of truth to what he/she says, and the truth comes in many disguises that we humans don’t like. So, please be careful with your word associations and good luck seeking out the truth.
