Remember, remember
the 5th of November-
the smell of bonfire
lit everywhere.

The burning sensation,
as you stop and stare.
The eyes a fixation
at “guy” on the top,
the sorrowfull eyes
wanting to stop.

Many competitions, a prize
for the best made-guy.
“Wow-wee”, look at that
firework high in the sky!

The sky turns colours,
from red to green.
Many fireworks set lit
and everywhere seen.

Childrens faces not that one bit
scared,
as they wave a sparkler
and begin to spell their name!

From Catherine Wheels,
rockets and even bangers too,
a crowd will gather
for the whole night through.

Baked potatoes,
hot dogs and toffee apples,
not even your frozen toes
will take the enjoyment away!

It is the time of year
to watch and stay.
To enjoy the pretties that fly
high up into the sky!
