Sometimes I take out this Poem that I wrote many moons ago as a remember of what love is. It fills me up with joy and I put it away again until the next time I feel I need it.

I was running on the outside
of some foreign dream.
You were standing right before me,
then I found myself wanting to believe in you,
in me and everything in-between.

Like lightening when it hits the sky,
and you’re walking below and waiting
for the rain that you know will soon follow.
There’s no use pretending you don’t see it,
when it hits your flesh like a bullet wound
and you’re left to bleed, left to follow…

When everything becomes darkness,
and my eyes are starting to close,
forgive my greed, my sorrow,
and all the roads that I chose in blindness -
before you, before me, before everything that mattered.

All I need is that look in your eyes,
that once told me to hold on, to see clearly,
never to let go of the love that binds us to
one another, when everything else might crumble-
around us, before us.

And we’re left holding one another,
beneath the warmth of the sun,
drinking so deeply her passion
for man as we become one-
with her, with each other, and all who might follow…

We have come to find a peace of mind,
and traveled so far for perfection in this form,
this skin of “waking moments”
that time can not erase, cannot escape.

Like a prisoner left to falter
though his pardon has been graced, has been lifted,
yet no one forgets – and he is crying, left dying
at the feet of you and I as time does follow…

There is nothing to let go of,
no shame of strength to defend,
and all my dreams are on your doorway,
in rows of techno color stems,
that glow like water in a morning mirror,
reflecting all the things you do.

And we are touched so deeply
that you can not deny -
as I am walking toward you,
as you are walking toward me,
one breath, one lifetime and everything that follows.
