Short poem about prostitution.
RENO’S WOMEN OF THE NIGHT
Copyright 2011 by Sam Yulish
Blinded by the flashing signs,
the legs were passing through my eyes.
The prostitutes were standing by,
waiting for a helpless sigh.
I could not tell my life, my dream,
could not find the way to scream.
Absorbed into this lustful scene,
excluding love that might have been.
They begged, beseeched me, not to leave,
“But if you go, we will not grieve,
for many more will pass this way,
far easier than you to sway.”
