An homage to the photo of JFK’s son at his father’s funeral. An iconic photo seen around the world!

REQUIEM FOR A FATHER

The willow hangs its head and weeps,

A boy behind his momma peeps,

The box all shiny and full of dad,

The youngster alone and feeling sad,

His hero, his father will not return,

A force of love will live on and burn,

Rush of life from this boy’s heart,

A choking sob on this day’s part,

Goodbye, goodbye the boy can’t say!

I want – I wish – my dad to stay,

Salute – the mourners hang their heads,

Salute – the lad at last has led,

Remember child my love for you!

One day you’ll meet with me anew,

His hand goes up and honor is rendered,

His dad – our President – the boy’s eyes are tender,

This moment – this scene shall always go,

Forever glorified – a story – in photo.
