Just something I threw together.
Thinking of the times that passed, living my life so fast/
Not realizing that I need to slow down and realize that the grass/
Is greener on the other side, but I’m too occupied with trying to survive/
Trying to justify lies, with another lie oh woe is me, oh my/
Pressure busts pipes, pressure enhances my performance/
I give it my heart and soul, til my body can no longer endure it/
Drowning in the mist of problems that are surrounded by solutions/
But are clouded by illusions of a better place, yesterday/
Things aren’t as bad if I cooperate, but not today/
So I’ll see y’all tomorrow I’m headed to my getaway/
My home away from home, better known as paradise/
Where brothers live and die, lives on the line with a pair of dice/
Shoes hang from telephone lines, broken vials on the ground/
Brothers kicking rhymes on the corner gathering a crowd/
Illegal search and seizures, cops harass the innocent/
And that’s just a glimpse of the paradise I’m livin’ in/
Others would call it hell, but see I call it home/
What else is there to call it when it’s the only thing I know?/
Yeah, I thought so, so until then, just mind your own/
And just leave me, myself, and I the hell alone/
