Wondrous bursts of human skill, bringing changes in lifestyle;

  with each step along the way, looms a new and better day;

   progress with its rank and file, climbing each and every hill.

    There’s a keen, congenial sway o’er those that lag behind;

     young “eagles” seem to cut the wind,  in new directions of the mind;

      new, virgin “skies” to seek and find,  and higher “cliffs” along the way.

       Scenes unseen before today appear as if out of nowhere,

        with even swifter wings that soar  and growing swifter more and more;

         the common and the really rare,  crossing paths in every way.

          Rich, nourished roots are nurtured so that trees above can yield their fruits;

           special values of before, like stalwart trees unhindered grow

             with lasting tribute to their roots wherefrom the goodness we extract.

              Tomorrow there’ll be newer shoots among the blossoms of the past,

               with human virtues marching free toward a better world to be,

                and time shall not its shadows cast  upon their independent roots.
