Hardcore Poetry.
Hardcore
There are those that try, real hard, to be hard.
There are those that avoid them trying to be hard.
Then there is the few that neither avoid or deny.
And the few are the few that survive.
To be hardcore is to preach the truth no matter the cost or consequence.
You can be soft and hardcore too,
because sometimes gentleness is the strongest tool.
You can cry if you choose to all men get bruised.
Inside and out we are all the same.
The only thing that differs us from cows and sheep
is that we think of life as a game.
And hardly think when it comes to something other than playing.
And we too have a heart that a pig can replace.
But the heart will never truly feel until a mind coincides.
Until knowledge is at risk
Until we see a sight of our demise.
You cannot deny your own eyes.
And a man may try to be anything but he,
and use mortar and stone to build his disguise.
But underneath the flesh and bones lies a soul.
And everyone that is hardcore knows,
that you can puncture a man but never his soul.
Until death comes for me,
until corpses crawl from the depths of the sea,
until the sun shines no more,
until my mind turns to mush,
my bones as frail as burnt brush.
Never will I render my flesh,
my fortress of sticks and stones
to the needle or the flame.
My soul does not float by hot air,
but hangs by my every word.
The inner most workings are feeble and frail
but my armor is made of heavenly slate
and alien stone.
No man can break what he not know.
No man can take what he doesnt sow.
Unless you wear your heart on your sleeve.
Everyone has a core.
Everyone has a strength.
Your flesh can be eaten.
Your skin can rot.
But a core can plant a seed, less it be to weak to produce.
Existence is futile if you choose not to fight.
If you do not want
Than nothing wants you.
Rough is the resistance you give.
The friction you get
and the fire that ensues.
Is it a spark of light
or a forest fire?
Tough is taking the heat
and controlling what the fire consumes,
for a fire loosed is a battle you will surely lose.
