A poem about abuse.

Ruining Something Beautiful

By: Ali M. Wagner

Strangle me with love,

hit me with your innocence,

shove me with your heart,

all I want is you.

Promise me you wont leave,

promise me you will be here,

promise me you will listen,

promises.

Go ahead,

hit me again,

I’m weak,

but beautiful.

The more you hit me,

the more the pain goes away.

I will not stand up.

I can’t.

I’m afraid.

You are my problem.

You are my lie.

You are the reason,

for everything that is wrong.

How?

Why?

What were you thinking?

The only questions in my head.

Being with you,

killed me,

being without you,

drown me.

You haven’t left me,

even though you aren’t around,

I deal with you everyday,

you’ve runied something beautiful.
