As my children are growing up and running life’s race, they need to follow not my example but the example of the One who is perfect in wisdom, love and grace.

My children all will soon outgrow their sweet childhoods
And blissful innocence will soon be laid to rest.
It’s something everyone must face along life’s way
Temptations and distractions are a real test.
But the tough battle isn’t something that just starts now
The fight began ere they were born some years ago
And now they’re following in my footsteps each day
So guiding them, all the mistakes I’ve made I’ll show.
I love you kids, but don’t depend only on me
To set the perfect path.  Instead, turn to the One
Whose perfect wisdom, love, and grace will lead you home.
I’ll cheer you on in life’s big race.  Run to the Son!
