My tattered soul is running on empty

my gas gauge is as empty as it can be.

My four tires need replaced immediately,

the windshield needs replaced as well.

                        ****

Please don’t look at the rust and dents,

they show the mileage on my heart.

The last mechanic did not do so well,

he didn’t put back what he took apart.

                        ****

My motor probably needs cleaned up,

it’s sort of rusted from all of my tears.

The spark plugs are in need of attention,

new spark plugs will pick up my pace.

                        ****

Please replace the ignition if you want,

but the old set of keys doesn’t fit anymore.

The last driver took the keys when he left,

I don’t want him to drive my car ever again.

                         ****

I see that you filled up my empty soul,

my gas gauge is full and the oil is great.

My four tires are brand new and shiny,

I look forward to get back to the living.

                         ****

My dents and rust are repaired once again,

I feel whole for the first time in many years.

I fired the mechanic that broke my heart,

a new mechanic is wanted so please apply.

                         ****

My motor is in perfect running condition,

the old mileage has become unimportant.

New spark plugs revived my broke spirits,

I so want to pick up the pace of life again.

                         ****

The ignition has been replaced and I am glad,

no former loves will ever drive my car again.

Its time to start over and look for love again,

anyone interested in a recycled but good heart?

nice piece of poem though the format seemed to distract me, the first and some other stanzas.

To me,a stanza was out of place but as a whole it was a very good poem about moving on and living s one should.

I enjoyed, I liked how you described a personal relationship through the word of a vehicle. Thank you!
