When grace meets love and acceptance follows. There is no turning back.

Make my life go down in flames.
Let it crash and burn,
set it ablaze as a burnt offering
as I pray the aroma will be pleasing to you.
Burn away all that is not good
for this is no longer my life.
You bought it with you precious blood,
but I ask you, “ Did you not know, though,
when you purchased this toy, that it was
Broken?”
You reply, “Do you not know I have a carpenter’s hands?”

I can’t even begin to say how much this is complete awesome-ness.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how God burns our bonds by burning away our worldly flesh in self sacrifice…and you write me a poem all about it! It’s amazing! Thanks, Joe.

The last four lines are especially beautiful. It’s such a wonderful way to put it.. Perhaps Jesus being born to a carpenter and following in that trade was intended to be symbolic, haha. Nonetheless, this is great; it’s very simplistic.
