Sally who eventually fell in love with Phil, died of cervical cancer.

Sally was young

With sparkling eyes

And a rather sexy body

She was only 17

Dreamed of going to college

Trying to save as much money

As she could

- – -

She worked at Hardee’s

Where guys would congregate

Many would flatter her

And she came to believe

That she was special

- – -

One thing that the guys

Didn’t know was

She was desperately ill

With cervical cancer

- – -

Sally on learning

About her prognosis

Decided to give up on her dreams

And started paying more attention

To the guys that came

To Hardee’s

Much to the chagrin

Of her parents

- – -

A couple of the guys were happy

To find Sally an easy lay

But, she didn’t really care now

For she figured

That she didn’t have long to live

- – -

In the process

Sally, did fall for Phil

And like the others

She kept her illness a secret

From him

- – -

As she got worse

With the chemo treatment

That never worked

She could no longer work

Stayed at home

And refused to see Phil

- – -

Sally died six months later

Her dreams shattered

Phil was broken hearted

He saw her obituary

In the local newspaper

And cried like a baby

Poor Sally. I wish that she should have lived long to enjoy life. Good poem.

Very beautiful poem, but very sad at the same time. What can I say, life is like that sometimes.
