This poem is about the Festival of Samhain. It tells of the celebration of the last harvest and of the joining of our world and the spirit world on October 31st.

The first full moon past harvest time they celebrate Samhain.
Together they all chant and dance around the bonfire flame.
The summer sun has cooled and set as light gives way to dark.
And magic fills the open air ignited by a spark.
Tonight they’ll be no barriers, the spirits will be free.
They’ll enter into our realm and everyone will see.
That we are still connected to our loved ones who have passed.
And inside of our hearts and souls their memories are cast.
It’s Festival and everybody wants to sing and dance.
They’ll make their special brew again then all will be in trance.
They’ll summon up the spirits as they always do this night.
And then each one will be possessed until the morning light.
The spirits all will be released just like in ancient days.
Singing, dancing, playing, around the burning blaze.
This is the only time of year when our two worlds can meet.
Way inside the forest, very secret and discreet.
