Popular American lyricist, songwriter, talented musician, winner of prestigious awards, including Academy Award. At the time of his romantic poetry enthralled many celebrities, among them Frank Sinatra, Doris Day and others.

Sammy Cahn (real name Samuel Cohan) was born on June 18, 1913 in the Lower East Side in New York in a family of Jewish immigrants from Poland. He was the only son of five children.

Creative activities Sammy started in the thirties of last century. Then he perfectly played the violin in a dance bands. Soon Kang began to cooperate with Saul Chaplin. The two men were extremely talented. They created a duo of Cahn and Chaplin, and actively worked for many leading companies who desperately needed the excellent musical and poetic themes.

In the 1940th year, Kahn went to Hollywood and there that he began writing songs for films. At one time he also worked for the theaters of Broadway, creating a wonderful lyrics for the musicals High Button Shoes, Two’s Company, Skyscraper, and puppets for the show Les Poupees de Paris.

In 1955, the year of the poet has expanded the field of its own activities. Then he became interested in publishing and became a music editor.

Sammy passed away on January 15, 1993 in Los Angeles, California. He was 79 years old.

Currently, Star Kahn is still burning on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood and in the hearts of many fans.
