Just a random scene I wrote.
The clouds broke into small groups of floating orange cotton pieces. The sun was slowly sinking into the salty ocean while the moon came out chasing it. Even though it had rained all day, the evening was above warm. She sat on the wet sand, eyes closed, swaying to the music of her own violin. The violin, her blowing hair and her white dress, all against the background of the rising room and soaked in the golden lighting of the setting sun created a perfect contrast. Sitting beside her was a young boy of her own age. The warmth had forced him to take off his shirt but his jet-black jeans were still on. The wind played with his hair while he stared at the horizon, his knees held between his arms. His shoulder blades stuck out as if wings were going to sprout out of them. A white tiger was growling from one of them. He was enjoying the creamy sound of the violin that filled the atmosphere.
The music stopped.
He glanced at her and turned back to the horizon again.
“We should go.” She said, putting her violin aside.
He did not reply. She thought for a second and decided against leaving. She started drawing random lines on the sand with her toes. She looked at him. He didn’t lift his gaze off the horizon.
“Oh come on Josh, snap out of it” she said in a soft voice, resting her head on his right shoulder, right above the tiger. He caressed her hair with his right hand and leaned on his left.
“I am trying Ash.” He whispered still looking at the horizon.
She looked up at his face. “I love you”
He looked at her, smiled and planted a kiss on her lips.
She took it without any hesitation. She opened her eyes as their lips parted and, smiled. An end of lips bent into a smile and a faint dimple appeared on his cheek.
All of a sudden she got up and pinned him down on the warm sandy beached. She tossed her hair aside.
“You are not going to be sappy forever, naughty boy”
Her smile added meaning to her words.
He raised his eyebrows and returned the same smile. He didn’t move a muscle in self-defense.
“Well, you can’t do anything about it”
“Yes I can” The smile didn’t give up.
“Nuh-uh”
“Mhmm” She raised an eyebrow this time.
He shook his head and almost immediately, she started tickling his tummy. He burst out laughing, trying to break free. After a minute of struggling, he finally got out of her grip and stood up, dusting the sand off himself. As he was getting the sand off the tiger, she got up to him from behind and brushed her lips on his nape. He turned around and held her by her waist. Swinging in his arms, she asked “What do you need from me to be happy?”
“Love”
“We’ll make it” The wink changed to a shy smile. She started biting at her lips.
The last rays of the sun bade them farewell, veiling them in the moonlit darkness with the privacy they needed.
