Poetry ~ Sapphire Eyes.

Here I stand, my heart on my sleeves,

With a letter for you, as you turn and leave,

And still I stood, long after you’ve left,

My heart in pieces, and there I wept.

With teary eyes, I left the place,

Where we broke up, where we parted ways,

My feelings poured, in that letter of mine,

With my love written on every line.

The day soon after, my heart skipped a beat,

when you called me up and said we should meet,

At the place where our love fell apart,

Where you left me standing and broke my heart.

I dressed up as quickly as I could,

probably hoping for more than I should,

Ironed my shirt, perfume filled the air,

I was overreacting yet I didn’t care.

And when I finally reached the place,

my heart pounded when I saw your face,

Still the angel that caught me by surprise,

that dazzling smile, those deep blue-eyes.

We both sat down and our eyes met,

Sapphire eyes sparkling, filled with regret

You read the letter, Each line made you see,

How much you really meant to me.

Now here I stand, with my heart on my sleeves,

as we stood up, as we turn and leave,

And hand in hand , I let out a sigh,

As I kiss my angel, with the sapphire blue eyes.
