Sapphire eyes and twelve tiny diamonds.

I twisted the ring
Around my delicate finger
Admiring the
Twelve tiny diamonds.
But they did not compare
To her sapphire eyes.

I pressed my hand,
And twelve tiny diamonds,
To my lips and
Smiled,
Remembering sapphire eyes.

Remembering the woman
With long onyx hair.
She told me she loved me
As I looked into her sapphire eyes.

Twelve tiny diamonds
Were slipped
Onto the third finger
Of my left hand
By the woman with sapphire eyes.

Twelve tiny diamonds,
And each one whispered
“I love you”
In the voice
Of the woman with sapphire eyes.
