Am I asking far too much, to hope that some brave reader might

be brave enough to shout loud if they should think my work is shite?

What the person reading content needs to fully understand 

is that when they comment on what they read, writers find that really grand

All we want as penman is to feel that those reading our words care

enough about the stirring things we write to really long to share

their thoughts about our flowery prose, their comments on our thoughts

such messages are life blood, be they about poetry, fact or sports

They help us writers understand what it is that floats your boats

the things you like to see us say, the quirky facts and the quotes

the poems that are nonsense, or those that make you weep,

the things you hate to read about that send you off to sleep

We writers need to be informed of yours, the readers choices

we need to see your words in print, in that sense to hear your voices

so that we might always provide the content of which you will approve

comment on our humble efforts so we know which way to move

to keep you interested and occupied, to keep you firmly on our side

so that everything we publish we do with a knowledgeable pride

that we are writing what you want to read and keeping you amused

if you fail to tell us what you like, well writers just end up confused

so forgive my my need to be so blunt, to simply have felt a need to vent
