We have all been hurt by words and actions.

Criticism intended maliciously
Terse words in anger spoken
Ridicule from an immature person.
We remember…we remember.

Not thinking an unkind act is performed
We forgive, but often can’t forget.
Thus, the scars time won’t heal.
We remember…we remember.

Negatives! Simply negatives!
All are negatives sent to trip us.
But in strength we cast these down
Refusing to remember

Unless in remembering
These some of life’s bitters
We refuse to act
Hurt…intimidated…revengeful

And determined to be careful
Not to inflict on another
A Scar.

I have heard that it takes 10 positive statements to make up for every negative we hear – no wonder most of us are so lacking in self-confidence!

Aye. It would help us to remember what the Apostle Paul said by the Holy Spirit in Philippians 4 as what we are to think upon.
