A poem I wrote when I was tired of watching men abuse women.

Scenario of Pain

Velvet black sky, ivory white moon.

Soothing soft music, warming bright fire.

Woman sees man, man views woman.

Their bodies combine, their hearts pound as one.

He says he wants, she says she loves.

A single question, a single answer.

Pale white dress, deep black tux.

Searing Organ music, the kiss that warms.

Woman touches man, man holds woman.

Their bodies move together, their hears pound to music.

He says “forever”, she says “always”.

His is, “I do”, Hers is “I will”.

Little white house, big black car.

Young boy cries, little girl screams.

Woman slaps man, man punches woman.

Her body bleeds, his heart pounds.

He says “sorry”, she says “okay”.

A single apology, a single acceptance.

Velvet black sky, ivory white moon.

Soothing soft music, warming bright fire.

Boy becomes man, man meets woman.

Their hearts pound as one, his body preys.

He say’s he won’t, she says we’ll see.

One single promise, one single difference.
