Written March 2005.

The curtains have just revealed
The scene that’s just been set,
The future is like a chance encounter,
A chapter that hasn’t been read.

Time is the storyteller
For as long as we wish to hear the tale,
My attention has been undivided
From the moment the curtains were unveiled.

So far, getting close to you
Is like settling by a warm fireplace,
Forgetting it was ever cold outside,
Wishing time could slow its pace.

Getting to know you
Is like a novel I can’t put down,
I hold back from flicking the pages
So the moments last as long as time allows.

So if you happen to lose this page
And the words become speckled with dust,
I hope you come across it again one day
And relive the scene of what began between us.
