Another rant on my views of society.
Searching for sunshine
Like diamonds in a mine
It’s hard to find
With these blind
Eyes tainted by reality’s lies
The only thing colder
Than winter is the streets
Oh and the hearts of politicians
Government officials
And the ones up top
That are pulling all the switches
Lost in this corrupt system
Our graves are getting deeper
We desecrating nature
For big business
Build more prisons
Fix elections
Keep the people second guessing
Short change schools
By cutting their budgets
There’s no wonder we are
So easily fooled
Quick to be moved
In any given direction
Fight wars for independence
When our own economy is slipping
Into huge deficits
Don’t need to go over seas
To other countries
To find poverty
Fatal diseases
Or people who need
To be liberated
Impatiently waiting
For brighter days
