Second chances at love don’t come around to often,

the chance at a romantic reunion is a very rare thing.

But if you were ever offered a chance at love again,

can you honestly know what your answer would be?

Though you know you still love him or her very much,

are you proof positive that they love you like that to?

Has Father Time taken away some of the love there,

or do you know if it was even equal in the first place?

Is the physical attraction you both felt still same now,

can their physical touch still electrify your very heart?

Or is it only an illusion of the heart that you only see,

a once hot spark that  has turned into grey embers.

Can you see him or her as a lifetime mate until death,

seeing them everyday in your life in good and bad times?

Growing old with them through sickness and in health,

facing life’s challenges and hardships holding on tightly.

Can you accept the fact that your partner has a history,

it could be a ex wife,ex husband, children or their faith.

Know that they owe an obligation of some sort to that,

but making room for you and him as a loving couple.

Finally can you love and trust them when  out of sight,

knowing that they aren’t cheating and not saying so.

Can you love them with a love that costs you everything,

putting all you have and more to maintain a relationship.

People are ex couples for many reasons as we know,

sometimes its best if both parties kept it that way to.

But in other times you get a second chance to love ,

giving love a second chance may just pay off for you.
