Whether African or American, everyone ought to be provided with the tools to feed themselves.
Seed and feed
Always reminds me
To teach a person how to fish
Once taught
That person will be able
To catch fish and to feed himself
Seed and feed
Is similar in many respects
You provide African villagers
Whether in Zambia, Rwanda, Zimbabwe
Angola, or Sierra Leone
With the know-how, seeds, and farming equipment
Then, and only then, will they be able
To feed themselves successfully
They will no longer have to rely on
Foreign aid that never seems to stop
Even if they do for awhile
Until their farming or handicraft business
Begin to provide work and make a profit
It will not be to the same extent
The same is true of welfare recipients
In the United States
They can be taught classes and trades
In the hospitality sector, serve as mechanics
Medical assistants, secretaries, porters
Or, other interests of their liking
They can be encouraged to earn their GED
Find jobs in state and private sectors

But not sit at home collecting welfare checks
This way they will begin fending for themselves
Such encouragement will help most recipients
Gain in self confidence and respect
Making them feel that they are independent
