Poem.

Self-expression died today

It got shot in the heart

A man came up with his gun

And said poetry is not an art

He pulled the trigger right on back

And then played out its part

He must have been one who

Tried and failed for he knew not where to start

You cannot kill a poet

For immortalised is he

Who wears his heart upon his sleeve

For all eternity

Ah, yes we poet’s get no credit. But, they fail to recognize our wit, you need that to write along with common sense. Well put and it flowed really nice. thanks

Very powerful poem. “Hungry generations” fail to crush the poet and his or her works.
