What scars say to the self-injurer, inspired by To Write Love On Her Arms.

Her arms speak of truth
Stories of the pain and torment
Behind a thousand self inflicted wounds

Her arms speak of moments
So engrained inside the hurt
A thousand self inflicted scars
To tell of a time when nothing else seemed to work

Her arms speak of dark night
Those when she was alone in the silence
A thousand self inflicted words drawn upon her skin
To show the world the depths of where she has been

Her arms speak of strength
The kind she holds for making it through years of self abuse
For making it out of the battlefield
With only some self inflicted battle scars

Her arms speak of how far she has made it
She has walked through shattered glass and broken hearts
and she has managed to make it through
with only some self inflicted scars

Her arms speak of rescue and coping
The blood on the knife is bad as we all know
but there are worse off ways to go
So think of then not as scars, but the stories that they show

Her arms speak of recovery
There is life beyond razorblades and bandaids
You don’t have to hide forever,
Afterall, they are just a few self inflicted scars

Her arms speak of truth
Stories of the pain and torment
Behind a thousand self inflicted wounds

I had a friend that cut herself all the time until the last time when she went too far, too deep. One can see the agony and feel the pain in this write. Please, if this is you, be careful. Michael

I only hope this is not written in the first person. This detailed write suggests the \” scars\” and yet \”recovery\”. I hope recovery is now in progress. You are such a talented writer and I love reading your writes.

Woah, I’m a little nautious. A write has never made me feel so ashamed and concerned at the same time. Your topic choices are always heart stoppers. Again though, my thought’s stray to Michael’s…

I surely pray whoever has similar experiences will soon find the strength, hope, and inspiration to change…you’re a great poet.
