The mythical creatures of Irish legend.
Upon your barnacle embellished dais
you sit arcane in moonlight mystery.
Eyes look to the land then turn to the
smoky, silvery, silent sea.
Body brown and silky
shrouded in velvet skin.
A face of mystic wisdom
eyes that speak from within.
And in those eyes, a sadness
of something a mere moral does not know.
And in your keen a longing
filled with voices from long ago.
They say your tale is tragic;
for your heart is full of trust.
But man kills you with promise
and a heart full of lust.
So the sea pulls you away
Forgotten, so alone.
Breath ebbs from your body
For your heart has two homes.
So smooth and silent,
you melt into the deep blue
But I know you will return
to shed your skin for something new.
