The whole nation reset the memory clock back to the unbelievable
Alqaeda assault on the free world that September morning.

The rhetoric was of Abraham Lincoln and the Bible
Obama read words of Consolation from the Holy book
Americans were united for once in total accord
Bill Clinton, George Bush Junior and Barrack Obama all
Standing on Ground zero like one people in one country
Barrack the sitting President holding Nancy onto the back
With one hand and George Bush on the shoulder with the other
Heads bowed as the preacher-man said his prayers
And the Mayor of New York urged Americans to take courage
Names of the dead recounted as relatives tearfully took to the podium
The whole nation reset the memory clock back to the unbelievable
Alqaeda assault on the free world that September morning
Turning the blue morning sky into some ominous darkness
Over the land in a manner never seen before
When young Americans finally sang the National Anthem
It was clear that the spirit of September 11
Had made its annual visitation upon the land once again
To reinforce the common belief that
The world will never be the same ever again
