Souls cry foul for the stresses and strains of a city’s urbanity; our minds are flooded with thoughts of materialism; our freedom of movement, thwarted by impediments of monotonous routines; so we ask ourselves: "Is there no time to pause and let our souls breathe deeper in the environs of Nature where quietude and tranquility reigns supreme?"
There is much to desire
In terms of knowing
The flame in our soul
Never stops glowing;
That we should adhere
To messages clear:
Seeds of sweet harmony
Keep constantly sowing.
Ways of tranquility
Are open to all,
If only we listen
To the clarion call
Of phenomenal sights
And awesome heights
Of natural wonders
Big and small.
The running brook’s murmur
And the eagle’s flight;
The chirping of crickets
In the silence of night;
The flamingoe’s dance
And the peacock’s prance;
The snows on mountains,
Glistening white;
The ocean’s expanse
And cascading falls;
The soul-stirring thrills
Where there are no walls;
The knowledge that we
Are born to be free
Listening to Nature’s
Beseeching calls.
For all these we pause
So that we espouse
Sound reason and cause –
The need to arouse
Our spirit, indeed,
To curb our haste
And rein in the speed.
