One day I will set her free.

Oh, the years I spent
Just trying to figure out who
I wanted to become

All the countless minutes went by
As I watched my dreams
unravel and come undone

Never could I comprehend
Why progress was never made

There were many lonely nights
When I wondered why I stayed

Sometimes it takes bad things happening
To open up our eyes

When we find the good parts of life,
We’ll get to be surprised

Now, I know the person I want to be
I recently found her,
On the other side of the mirror

In the future,
She will be a part of me
One day, I will set her free

Your narrative and revelation unfolds very smoothly in this one; much like a rose in bloom. Well done.
